LIBRARY

The College Library of is a well-developed knowledge resource center that supports academic excellence, research, and professional growth. The library building was constructed in 2016 under the RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) infrastructure grant, providing a modern and comfortable environment for learning.

The library has a seating capacity of approximately 80 students and is equipped with proper lighting, ventilation, and comfortable furniture to ensure a conducive reading atmosphere.

Library Collection:
The library is rich in academic resources with a collection of over 33,000 books, including:

  • Around 6000 reference books
  • Journals, magazines, and newspapers
  • Encyclopedias, dictionaries, and educational surveys
  • Approximately 885 dissertations

Additionally, the library subscribes to 17 magazines, 8 newspapers, and multiple research journals to keep students and faculty updated with current knowledge.

Digital and E-Resources:
The library provides access to a wide range of digital resources through INFLIBNET-NLIST, which includes:

  • More than 6000 e-journals
  • Around 1,99,500 e-books via N-LIST
  • Over 6,00,000 e-books through the National Digital Library (NDL)

The N-LIST programme is funded by the Ministry of Education (MoE) under the e-ShodhSindhu Consortium. The library also offers Wi-Fi and internet facilities for seamless access to digital content.

Infrastructure and Facilities:

  • 2 computers for student and staff use
  • Printer with scanner
  • Photostat (xerox) machine
  • Internet and Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Book bank facility for students

Library Management and Services:
The Library Committee, in coordination with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), regularly reviews and updates library resources to ensure their relevance and adequacy.

The committee undertakes the following responsibilities:

  • Formulating book procurement and distribution policies
  • Most of the books are entered on Koha Software. 
  • Students have access to scholarly contents
  • One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) is shared with students to ensure proper access to global knowledge to strengthen research output
  • Updating and expanding library resources
  • Recommending software and service upgrades
  • Improving user services based on feedback, including suggestions from student representatives

Usage and Membership:
Library visits are encouraged and made essential for students to familiarize them with available resources. All students, faculty, and staff are eligible for membership upon registration.

  • Students can borrow books for up to 14 days
  • Faculty members can retain books for up to a semester

Books are systematically arranged, regularly maintained, and periodically bound. Proper pest control measures are also undertaken to preserve library materials.
